01
The Event

NorCal Hybrid is an outdoor hybrid racing affiliate event produced by The NorCal Classic team. Athletes run between 8 functional fitness stations in one continuous race format. It combines endurance running with functional strength and conditioning — no rest, no shortcuts.

NorCal Hybrid is produced by The NorCal Classic team — the same team behind NorCal Classic, a CrossFit Semifinal event that has hosted elite athletes since 2019. World-class production, zero chaos. Learn more at norcalclassic.com.

NorCal Hybrid is an independent hybrid racing affiliate event — not a CrossFit-sanctioned competition. It's produced by The NorCal Classic team and uses functional fitness movements, but it is its own standalone race format open to all athletes.

No. Open divisions are designed to be accessible to competitive athletes at all levels. Pro divisions are for experienced athletes chasing prize money. Pick the division that matches where you are — not where you want to be someday.

02
Race Format

Athletes complete 8 functional fitness stations with a run segment between each one. You start, run to Station 1, complete the work, run to Station 2, and so on through all 8 stations. The course is continuous — no breaks between stations, no rounds, no rest periods. First through all 8 stations wins.

Total course length will be published in the athlete guide before the event. Expect a race lasting anywhere from 20–60+ minutes depending on division, fitness level, and conditions. It's not a sprint — pace yourself.

The 8 stations in order:

  • Station 01 — Sled Push (50m)
  • Station 02 — Sandbag Carry (100m)
  • Station 03 — Ski Erg (1000m)
  • Station 04 — Row Erg (1000m)
  • Station 05 — Burpee Broad Jumps (100m)
  • Station 06 — Goblet Walking Lunge (100m)
  • Station 07 — Farmers Carry (200m)
  • Station 08 — Wall Balls (100 reps)

No. Each division runs once — there are no heats, no finals, and no second chances. You get one run through the course. Your finish time is your result. Simple.

The race is timed. All station reps must be completed before you move on — you cannot skip or partial a station. Total elapsed time from start to finish is your score.
